Keep Your Eyes On Don’t Go Live

Have you ever wanted to explore a haunted house but were too afraid? Well, Don’t Go Live gives you a chance to live out your dreams from the safety of your home. In this game, your goals are simple. You want to do your best to entertain and grow your audience while navigating haunted areas. Your chat can be your greatest asset, or it can get you into deep trouble.

If you are playing Don’t Go Live solo, you will have an artificial stream chat that can help you navigate this haunted mansion, but the team over at Lake on Fire integrated some cool tech. You can also integrate your actual Twitch chat into the game, which adds a level of immersion.

Even though this game has elements of horror, the way that it integrates real and simulated chat features makes it a ton of fun. In the demo, you have access to one level. Your goal is to gain 1000 subscribers while entertaining your chat and exploring this haunted mansion.

As you check out the weird things happening around the level, it seems like you are angering a spirit or ghost. Your chat will call out things happening in the various spaces to help you out, but sometimes this may cause noise and attract unwanted attention. Your best bet here is to hide and mute your mic and chat. You won’t want to do this for too long because you will start to lose viewers.

Of course, you complete the level by reaching your subscriber goal, but there are a couple of ways to fail. I mentioned that you have to keep people watching the stream. If you hide for too long or don’t discover anything interesting for the chat, you lose views. Your viewer count decreases more quickly the longer you go without finding something new and creepy. I found myself stuck in a room with the doors locked for too long and hit a fail state. Also, you can get caught by the ghost in the house.

I really enjoyed the balance of the different mechanics. It kept me on my toes and didn’t let me cheat my way to the end. I am interested to see the additional environments that Lake on Fire will add to Don’t Go Live. I will be adding this to my list of games to watch. There is no release date at this time, but you can stay up to date by adding the game to your wishlist on Steam.
