The iPod is Back…Kinda | Sudo Music Player

It seems like many people are feeling nostalgic for the analog age. So many people have been on the hunt for film cameras and have switched over to wired headphones. While this may be performative for some, I do think that our phones have grown too powerful and become a Swiss Army knife of tech. Sometimes you might just want to read an article or listen to music without distractions.

The company New Matter has heard the cries for a simple music listening experience and is working on their iPod-inspired Sudo music player. Right away, you will notice that the design is reminiscent of the iPod that we all loved from so many years ago. There is a tactile scroll wheel along with a 2.73-Inch LCD touchscreen. Along with the 3.5 mm headphone jack, there will also be Bluetooth capabilities. Users will get 20+ hours of playback time with the device being charged via USB-C. I do wonder if you will be able to use USB-C headphones as well?

While this is aimed at those who want a slightly retro feel, you will also be able to stream content along with your offline media. The Sudo Media Player has 64 GB of internal storage and can be increased up to 1 TB via a microSD card.

If you want to get your hands on the Sudo Music Player, you can head to the site and reserve yours now. There are four different colors to choose from at the moment (Silver, Basalt, Forest, and Tangerine). You can put down a refundable deposit of $50, with an expected price of $250 upon release.
