Hyperkin just announced their new ‘Competitor’ controller and fans are jumping for joy. I had a chance to get my hands on the Competitor during CES and gamers have a ton to be excited about. First, you will notice that the shape is very close to the PlayStation 5 Dual Sense controller. Most third-party controllers lean towards more of an Xbox aesthetic and Hyperkin wanted to address that. They stated that a group of PlayStation gamers are utilizing services like Xbox Game Pass on PC and this controller is partially made for them.
There are some great features packed into the Competitor. The star of the show is the hall effect thumb sticks that should prevent stick drift over time. Hyperkin utilizes metal on the sticks and anti-friction rings to avoid any usual issues with the plastic wearing down. This also makes the stick movement feel amazingly smooth. Check out some of the additional features listed below.
- Symmetrical Twin Stick Layout: Offers a balanced, intuitive gaming experience.
- 2 Programmable Back Buttons: Customize controls to suit your playstyle.
- Separated D-Pad: Designed for precision input in competitive gameplay.
- Precision Impulse Hall Effect Triggers: Enhanced control with superior durability.
- Mic Mute: Quickly mute your mic for immediate privacy.
The Competitor is compatible with Xbox consoles and PC. We don’t have a price or release date at the moment but I was told that the price would be highly COMPETITIVE…..
