For those who are into horror, cave diving, and VR, Tunnels may have everything you are looking for. Tunnels have players trapped in an underground mine shaft while being hunted by an unknown monster. While you are constantly being stalked, you will have to dive and climb your way out of claustrophobic tunnels.
When I jumped into the game, I could immediately tell that the team at Mastiff was extremely talented. The game was running smoothly, which is important for someone who experiences VR sickness. While this is a horror game, climbing and exploration are very important to the experience. Every time I grabbed an item or a rock when climbing, it felt extremely tactile. I thought I wouldn’t be able to play a horror game in VR, but the jump scare isn’t the main focus of the game.
Tunnels also has a free-to-play multiplayer mode that will allow friends to experience exploration and horror together. This is available to play outside of the single-player experience, so no purchase is necessary.
