Mad Catz Enters The All Button Controller Ring with the N.E.K.O.

If you’ve been following the FGC (Fighting Game Community) over the last few years, you’re likely familiar with the trend towards leverless or all-button controllers. I popped into ComboBreaker a few years ago and saw a ton of people using Hitboxes and even keyboards. Well, Mad Catz has been paying attention. The company has been working closely with the Japanese FGC to create their take on the all-button controller. Meet the Mad Catz N.E.K.O..

Not only does the N.E.K.O. look great, but it has some dope features

Feature List

  • Advanced Ergonomics
  • 18 Buttons
  • 4 Programmable Buttons
  • Multi-Platform Compatible (PS4, PS5 with Wingman, PC, Switch)
  • Key Lock
  • 3 SOCD Modes

  • Turbo Mode
  • Customizable Art
  • Dual Firmware
  • Anti-Slip Base

Now, I won’t sit here and say I am the best when it comes to fighting games, but the N.E.K.O. felt great once I started to get a hang of things. The buttons lay flush with the rest of the controller when pressed down. This allows for smooth transitions between buttons, which helps with accurate combos. The slight angle of the fighting pad helps with comfort after long play sessions. I am also really into the level of customization that this controller has. The RGB is dope, but I love how Mad Catz has leaned into the customizable art.

You won’t have to wait long to get your hands on this controller. The Mad Catz N.E.K.O. will be priced at $129.99. Keep an eye on the Mad Catz site and Amazon for more information.
