In Mouse P.I. For Hire, you play a private investigator by the name of Jack Pepper. What starts as a simple missing persons case unravels into a story of corruption, kidnapping, and murder. Even without color, the art style is lively and expressive.
While I didn’t get hands-on with the game, Jonny Roses from Playside Games walked me through an amazing demo. I was surprised by how much Mouse P.I. had to offer. There are a lot of opportunities for discovery and exploration between combat. At times, it felt like I was watching something from a Bioshock game or the movie, Sin City. The character and ability animations added so much to the experience. Going into my demo/interview, I thought this may be a standard shooter with a different art style. Although my time was short, I was immediately drawn in by the story.
