About four years ago, Insomniac released its initial teaser for its long-speculated Wolverine game. During PlayStation’s State of Play, we finally got a full gameplay trailer, and it looks amazing. It has a similar style to their Spider-Man games, but with a ton more gore.
I am extremely excited for this new direction Insomniac is taking with Wolverine. Many were worried that the studio wouldn’t make the game gritty enough. Clearly, that is not the case. I am happy that time is being taken with this game. When initially watching this gameplay, the art style seemed extremely close to that of Spider-Man. Hopefully, we see some sort of crossover because of this.
It looks like Wolverine will be released in the fall of 2026. Clearly, Insomniac is not afraid of the Grand Theft Auto release, and they shouldn’t be. Stay tuned for more from Wolverine in early 2026.
